What is the MSTU on my tax bill used for? |

The Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) budget provides for maintenance to retention ponds in the University Estates subdivision. The University Estates Property Owners Association has an legal binding agreement with Orange County to maintain the retention ponds including mowing, weed control, mosquito control, and repair of water control devices. The association then periodically provides an invoice to the county for reimbursement. Orange County will use its taxing authority to assess fees on property owners to compensate the county for these services. A copy of the agreement can be found the documents section of our website.
