The Annual Meeting and Election of Directors of the Association was held on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
A quorum was established with homeowners in person or though proxy. Before the vote for directors and amendments, the board highlighted the accomplishments completed during the past calendar year.
Following the published agenda, three amendments were discussed and followed by a ballot:
(a) Vote on Amendment #1 to Article VIII, Section 20 regarding Renting and Leasing of Residential Dwelling Units.
(b) Vote on Proposed Amendment #2 to Article VIII, Section 21 (NEW) regarding Security Deposits.
(c) Vote on Proposed Amendment #3 to Article V, Section 13 (NEW) regarding Working Capital Contributions.
The final tally for these amendments were very close. Amendment #1 and Amendment #2 passed while Amendment #3 did not pass. The original vote tally indicated all three amendments passed, but after our attorney carefully reviewed at the numbers and figured out the percentage, it was verified that Amendment #3 did not pass by the required vote tally.
A ballot was collected for the purpose of electing 2 members to the University Estates Board of Directors, Maryam Musanti and Seerina Farrell were elected by a majority of the homeowners. This was again another close vote with the recount needing to be completed several times to ensure it was correct.
Following the adjournment of the annual meeting, an organizational meeting of the new board was held for the purpose of electing officers. The new Board of Directors is as follows:
- President - Maryam Musanti
- Vice President - Jean-Louis Perrault and Donna Dingle
